PAT HUBER
Pat was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta but has
called B.C. home since 1972. She has been involved in various creative arts over the years but when she applied paint to canvas, a whole new world came to be. Although somewhat self taught, she has augmented her knowledge with classes, courses and workshops at the Calgary School of Art, the Leighton Centre, also in Alberta, and has studied under established and distinguished artists in both B.C. and Alberta. By using acrylic paint and other mediums to create texture, and using various techniques and processes, PaT leans toward expressionism to pure abstract. Pat has shown her art in various venues in Kelowna,, BC and areas of Alberta,, and Saskatechewan. . Pat is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Central Okanagan Chapter of the FCA, the Brushstrokes Painters, the Okanagan Artists Coalition (OKAC) and is one of the founding members of the Suktemsqilx West Kelowna Arts Council. Pat, with two other partners, had GALLERY 97, a successful seasonal gallery from 2014 - 2018. Pat has been published in the 2014 edition of "The International Contemporary Artists" book, and has sold works internationally. Pat also sells privately. Artist's Statement My approach to painting is quite simplistic – it allows me to express myself through the visual language of abstraction,, an expression of emotion, color, energy and movement. Most of my work is not planned – it just happens through a meditative and intuitive action, it simply evolves. |
